Tokay Elementary Teacher Feature
Mrs. Feger
Tokay is proud to introduce Mrs. Feger in our Teacher Feature this trimester. She is currently our 3rd grade teacher and the 3rd grade leadership representative.
Prior to teaching, she was a parent volunteer at Maple Elementary where it was suggested by both Mr. Brown (the principal) and Diane Otterman (“One of the best first grade teachers and mentors I’ve ever met.”) that said she should study and become a teacher. She did and we are grateful for it.
Mrs. Feger has been teaching for 18 years. She has taught kindergarten, first, second, third, and fourth grades. Prior to teaching she was a special education teacher's aide for seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students at Sequoia Jr. High, for about 4 years. She has a Reading Specialist degree and also, has been trained & practiced Reading Recovery. She is currently teaching GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) classes.
Mrs. Feger has earned 2 degrees - a Masters Degree in Reading Education, as well as a BA in Liberal Arts. She has a multiple subject credential, with a supplement that allows me to teach language arts. She also has a reading specialist credential.
She was interviewed and was hired to teach here at Tokay. She has been ever since…
Mrs. Feger is an asset to Tokay Elementary. She always has the students’ best interests put forward. She is a caring and dedicated teacher. Hats off to you Mrs. Feger!
